Dr Jonathan Britt
Head of School, Computer Science and Maths, University of Portsmouth (UK)
Dr Britt has worked at the University of Portsmouth for over ten years, teaching courses in subject-oriented analysis and design, databases and theoretical computer science. Jonathan has also been closely involved in developing the cybercampus and is a very keen supporter of elearning. Jonathan also travels a great deal on behalf of the University of Portsmouth, promoting courses in Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Macau, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore.

Mr Fred Garlick
Associate Dean, Faculty of Technology, University of Portsmouth (UK)
Fred has over twenty years' experience in the field of electrical engineering, working in the Royal Navy and Marines as well as teaching at a number of educational establishments. He has been teaching at the University of Portsmouth since 1983 and is currently associate dean responsible for computing, electrical and electronic engineering, and mechanical and manufacturing engineering. Fred's main research interests are in problem-solving strategies and rapid application development.

Ms. Preethi Kesavan
Ms Preethi Kesavan has been a Lecturer from December 1994 till present. Preethi obtained her Msc Software Engineering - Andrews University (USA - Michigan) and a B.Engg Computer Science Engineering - Madurai kamaraj University India.
Formerly the Academic Course Leader from1999 - 2000, she was also the Team Manager from1997 - 2000. She was also the Centre Manager from May 2000 to April 2001 at Informatics Computer School as well at Tampines Informatics Computer School. She was the Graduate Studies Team Manager from May 2001 up to now at Informatics Computer School while serving as E-Learning Course Leader at
Cybercampus.
Her research and consultancy Interests include submitting a paper on Object oriented programming which included a survey of other object-oriented languages and programming environments, a research paper on an advanced study of applied software product development issues, software methodologies, software project planning models, software economics and statistical process evaluation.
She has also compiled a survey of the different paradigms associated with formal methods and submitted a report. In addition, research was done on computer graphics examining the raster and vector images, 2D and 3D images, polygons, transformations, segments, windowing, clipping, hidden line removal, shading.
The certification achieved by Preethi includes being a Certified e-Learning professional for
Cybercampus in March 2001, ORACLE University - Certificate upon completing Data Model and Relational DB Design - March 2001, SUN Microsystems - Authorized trainer to conduct IN150J Web Publishing with HTML, JavaScript & Applets in January 1999, Neville Clarke ISO 9000 International training course for Internal Quality Auditing in October 1999.

Palaniappan Karuppan Chettiar
Mr Pala obtained his BSc Computer Science in July 1985 - April 1988 from St. Josephs College, Bharathidasan University in Trichy, South India. Following which, he received MSc in Computer Science (July 1989 - April 1991) from PSG College of Arts & Science, Bharathiar University in Coimbatore, South India. Lastly, he obtained a M(Phil) Computer Science in (Dec 1995 - Dec 1997) from PSG College of Technology, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, South India. All degrees conferred on him were 1st class honours degrees.

In total, he has 11 years of teaching experience under his belt. In May 1988, he started as a Systems Assistant, then in July 1991, he was a Lecturer in Computer Science, Project Leader in July 1994 - Dec 1997, IT Course Coordinator / Lecturer in July 1998 - May 1999, UOL Course Leader / Lecturer from June 1999 - to present.

Ravindran, Thara (Ms.)
She obtained a Post Graduate Diploma In Systems Analysis in 1994 from Institute Of Systems Science, National University of Singapore. In 1988, Miss Ravindran received her MBA (Marketing - First Class) from Cochin University of Science and Technology, India after getting her first B.Sc. Degree (Physics - First Class) in 1985 from Calicut University, Kerala, India.
Prior to lecturing, Thara was an Analyst Programmer in Caltex, Singapore in January 1994 - April 1994. From October 1994- December 1997, she was a Senior Lecturer, (Advanced Diploma in Computer Studies, Informatics Computer School, Dhoby Ghaut).
Serving as the Unit Leader - Systems Analysis - Advanced Diploma in Computer Studies, she was involved in the development and administration of a web-based version of the B.Sc. (Hons) in Computing offered by the University of Portsmouth, U.K. In addition, she developed online materials for the cyber version of the B.Sc in Computing for two modules namely Information Management (IT 353) and eCommerce (IT357). As part of her tenure, she was involoved in the development of an undergraduate course in E-Commerce including the business and technical perspectives. The module was the first of its kind at the University of Portsmouth which was validated by the University in January 2000.
From December 1997 till presently, her current position is Manager - Academic Team, Graduate Studies Department, Informatics Computer School at Funan - the IT Mall
as well as the Course Leader - B. Sc. (Hons) in Computing, University of Portsmouth.
Some of her research and consultancy interests include eCommerce site development to WelchAllyn Singapore. The project covered an initial feasibility study and preparation of a comprehensive business case for the company. Other achievements included web site analysis for bulk trading, Singapore. The project involved evaluating an existing eCommerce site and providing recommendation on improvements that can be done to further enhance its appeal/ use to business partners. Other interests include eCommerce business models, Business Process Reengineering, Workflow Management, Primary Market Research.

Thamilarsi d/oPeriasamy
Thamilarsi d/oPeriasamy graduated with a B.Sc (Computing and Information Systems) and a
M.Sc (Information Management). Lecturing since 1995, she is currently teaching some courses in the Curtin University of Technology and University of Wales undergraduate programs.

Dr.N.KRISHNAMOORTHY B.E, M.Sc (Engg), Ph.D.
Dr. Krishnamoorthy holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India; a M.Sc in Engineering and a B.E (Electrical and Electronics) from the Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, India.
Currently, he is the Senior Lecturer of Informatics Computer School, Graduate Study Department.
Prior to this, he has served as Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science of Avinashilingam University, India (1988-1996) and a Senior Lecturer with the Govt. College of Engineering, Salem, Madras University from 1975-1988.
Other prestigious past assignments include being the Chairman Board of Studies with the Department of Computer Science and Computer applications; Member of the Academic Council in Avinashilingam University; Member - Board of Studies, B.E Computer Science and Engineering in Madras University and Examiner for the University of Madras, Computer Science and Computer Engineering.
Besides these, he has 27 years of experience in computer system maintenance, system development and software consultant.
Dr. Krishnamoorthy has co-written a book titled "Stability analysis of Power System", Omega Scientific Publishers, New Delhi and published many journals and conference papers.

LAKSHMAN Shimoga
Mr. Shimoga holds a Master of Computing from Griffith University, Queensland, Australia; a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore University, India and a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Computing, from Central Queensland University, Australia.
With 2 professional certifications under this belt (Microsoft Certified Professional in Windows NT 4.0 and the Certified Novell Engineer (CNE 5.0)), he is currently pursuing the Oracle Certified Professional Database Administration certification.
Currently working as an IT Consultant, he is involved with the training and development of Networking, Internet and computer security and database courses for his company.
Prior to this, Mr. Shimoga brought with him many years of enriching experience from being a R & D Senior Engineer (Software) for Wireless Handheld Devices; a Computer Programmer and Consultant with an Australian publishing firm "Phone Directories Co Pty Ltd" and a Systems Analyst in Digital Equipment (India) Ltd., Bangalore, India.
Since 1997, he has been a Senior Lecturer at Informatics Computer School delivering Oxford University curriculum to both full time and part time Advanced Diploma Students studying Pascal, C/C++, Database System Development, Software Engineering, Advanced Networking, Computer Security, Networks and Internets, and Computer Architecture. He is also the course facilitator for University of Portsmouth Bachelors (Hons) modules in Distributed Networks, Database Design & Management and Project. Finally, he has published papers in the International and National Journals and Conferences.
